This kind of blog is so new to us. I rarely write about my “love life” which makes it a big challenge on my part to start this endeavor! LOL! I wanted to show her how much I cared for her, so I went and bought a display assembly for her scratched MacBook Pro in secret. Come and find out her reaction when I told here I fixed it and what’s with the title of the blog and what makes it different from the rest! I am inviting all of you to visit My Sweetie Dark Chocolate!

June Zach @ 27

It’s my big day! Today I’m celebrating God’s faithfulness in my life. :)

For 27 years, He has been so real and wonderful! He has given me a loving family, true friends and a special person to share my life with, my sweetie.

I recorded my own rendition of “Shout to the Lord” (an original of Hillsong Music Australia) for my 27th birthday. This is my humble way of giving glory to the Almighty ! All the voices that you can hear in this song are from yours truly. :D

The King’s Speech won Best Motion Picture at the Oscars ’11

This post is already late but the Academy Awards triumph is for sure a lasting moment.

The 83rd Annual Academy Awards was a huge surprise when the movie about the biography of King George VI of Britain, “The King’s Speech” won Best Motion Picture of the Year besting other wonderful films including the crowd favorite,  “The Social Network” and Christopher Noland’s masterpiece, “Inception”.

This year’s Oscar Best Picture also won three major awards that included Best Achievement in Directing for Tom Hooper, Colin Firth for Best Actor in his role as King George VI and lastly Best Original Screenplay.

Natalie Portman took home the best actress statuette for her incredible performance as a ballerina in the controversial film, “Black Swan”. Christian Bale and Melissa Leo of the movie “The Fighter” both grabbed the supporting actor and actress awards respectively.

You can view the complete list of winners and nominees here.

Truly the year 2010 has been a great year for the film industry.

‘Til the next Academy Awards!

83rd Annual Academy Awards Nominees announced

The Academy Awards commonly referred to as the Oscars is the grandest culmination of the movie industry to honor the hard work of film makers.

Movie freaks like me are far more excited to know who will bring home the statuettes.

The list of nominees for the Best Motion Picture for this year’s Oscars are great films. Inception being one and The Social Network as a good competitor in this race, what more could you ask for? To complete the line up of this spectacular movies, it  includes 127 Hours, Black Swan, The Fighter, The Kids Are All Right, The King’s Speech, Toy Story 3, True Grit and Winter’s Bone.

I was a bit surprised that the brilliant Christopher Nolan was not nominated for Best Director. In my opinion, he should have been part of the list.

Natalie Portman having won several awards for her acting prowess in the Black Swan, I think is a sure win while for the Best Actor category, Colin Firth portraying as King George VI of Britain in The King’s Speech, has all the possibility to claim the award on stage. What makes me happy is that my favorite actor, James […]

The Social Network won Best Drama at 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards

The Social Network won Best Drama at 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards

It is one of the most celebrated movies in 2010 being adapted from the real life story of how Facebook came to be. The Social Network garnered four awards namely Best Motion Picture-Drama, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Original Score. It bested my 2010 favorite, Inception. In most cases (but not entirely all), award giving bodies tend not to honor sci-fi films to be “best” movies.

As the Oscars race is on its trail, who will take home the bacon?

I’m sure you have your own bets and so do I.  Natalie Portman winning best actress this year is something I am looking forward to. As the winner for this year’s Golden Globes, she is one step higher to claim the little statue.

Here are the list of winners for the 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards:

Best Motion Picture – Drama

The Social Network (2010)

Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy

The Kids Are All Right (2010)

Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama

Colin Firth for The King’s Speech (2010)

Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama

Natalie Portman for Black Swan (2010)

Best Performance by an […]

A Yearend Special: 2010 in Perspective

Glancing back on what transpired this year, these are the highlights of my life…

LIFE IN GENERAL I am so much blessed. Wonderful things are overflowing. I am not saying I did not have any gloomy days. In fact, I encountered perplexing moments that tested my inner man. I made wrong decisions that created a terrible effect in my life. But, all of those negative events came to pass. I remained standing and triumphant in the midst of the storm. I have learned from my mistakes. I am getting BETTER, WISER and STRONGER. THANK GOD!

Good health is the most important gift we are very thankful to the Almighty. We faced enormous challenges in every aspect of life but gladly we made it through.

Romance is perhaps not for me? (LOL) This year I could tell that I attained a level of maturity in dealing with emotional matters. I learned that authentic love takes time. It is not something to haste. It waits patiently. The right one will come along at God’s appointed perfect time.

I am surrounded with wonderful circle of friends both in the real and online world. Trustworthy friends who […]
