The King’s Speech won Best Motion Picture at the Oscars ’11

This post is already late but the Academy Awards triumph is for sure a lasting moment.

The 83rd Annual Academy Awards was a huge surprise when the movie about the biography of King George VI of Britain, “The King’s Speech” won Best Motion Picture of the Year besting other wonderful films including the crowd favorite,  “The Social Network” and Christopher Noland’s masterpiece, “Inception”.

This year’s Oscar Best Picture also won three major awards that included Best Achievement in Directing for Tom Hooper, Colin Firth for Best Actor in his role as King George VI and lastly Best Original Screenplay.

Natalie Portman took home the best actress statuette for her incredible performance as a ballerina in the controversial film, “Black Swan”. Christian Bale and Melissa Leo of the movie “The Fighter” both grabbed the supporting actor and actress awards respectively.

Truly the year 2010 has been a great year for the film industry. :)
